Our bodies are meant to be in motion. Age, lifestyles, poor long term movement patterns, and injuries all conspire to slow us down, draining our energy. At Why Not? Movement Studio we blend a wide variety of disciplines to come up with a dynamic and fun approach to movement. We seek to build strength and stability, improve your balance, increase your range of motion, and enhance your mind/body connection resulting in greater freedom of movement and integrity. We treat our clients with respect and honesty. We make every effort to create a safe place that honors any unique challenge you face whether that's an injury, a little extra weight, recovering from the birth of your child, osteoporosis, or arthritis. We will help you achieve the goals you have set for yourself.
Ultimately, our clients tell us that they feel better. They are more effective at work. And when they have taken a fall or moved unexpectedly, they have avoided serious injury. One client told us that he saw his orthopedist after a particularly nasty fall during skiing. After our client described his fall, his physician told him that he should have blown out his knee, but instead, it was a sprain. He told our client, "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it. It saved you." We want you to understand your body, to feel good in the body you have right now, and to have the confidence to continue your progress towards a life of balance and integrated wholeness. It's a long journey. You might as well enjoy it, keeping your eyes wide open. ![]() ![]() Sacred Spaces Bodywork, founded by Cathy Pliscof Holway, reflects the original explorations of A.T. Still, the founder of osteopathy; W.G. Sutherland, who developed cranial osteopathy, and R. Becker, who further explored the unique healing processes present in all of us. At the core of our healing mechanisms is the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and nourishes the brain and spinal cord. Good flow of this fluid, as well as blood flow, is critical for the health and motion of all of our body systems: including vascular, visceral, nervous, lymphatic and musculoskeletal systems. Sacred Spaces Bodywork uses the gentle touch of Profound Neutral to palpate these fluids and encourage their flow to nourish the organs, muscles and bones of the body. This allows the tissues to release old restrictions from disease, surgery or trauma. Restrictions in the organs, muscles and bones can be a core cause of chronic pain symptoms such as headaches, neck and back aches, arm or leg pains that have not responded to medications or other therapies. When restrictions release from the body, pain levels decrease and mobility improves. The body remembers a deeper level of function and flow, and ease is restored for many activities.
